English for Hospitality

One of our most popular courses is English for Hospitality training.  With the huge number of foreign employees in the UK hospitality industry, learning English to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers is essential.

At CLT Ltd our bespoke English courses help all types of hospitality staff communicate more efficiently – kitchen porters, sous chefs, bar tenders, waiters, receptionists, housekeepers, and managers have all benefited from our tailored training.

From restaurants to hotels and private members’ clubs, our extensive client list includes The Ivy Collection/ Caprice Holdings, The Wolseley Hospitality Group, The Birley Clubs, Granger & Co, Hawksmoor, Wahaca, The Ned and Pizza Pilgrims.

Our English for Hospitality courses usually run for 10 weeks, for groups of up to 15 delegates.  CLT assess the English levels of the employees prior to the start of the course and group them accordingly from absolute beginners, to advanced.  We also have a detailed call with the organiser of the course prior to the start to discuss how the delegates use their English skills at work.  We can then design a training programme which is relevant, effective and at the correct level.

As well as general communication skills, we incorporate original material from the company such as menus, Food Hygiene and Health & Safety information to ensure the sessions are relevant to the delegates’ job roles.  At the end of the course, the delegates are issued with an internal Certificate of Achievement with their level according to the European Common Framework.
